Schedule Update

We have re-scheduled our snow-out game with Alta for Monday, March 28th @ 3:30pm at Alta High School.

Also, we will be playing in a "Swing-For-Life" tournament on Saturday, April 30th. This is a fun, one-day tournament to help raise money for breast cancer. The tournament will be held at the Cottonwood Complex. I will post the exact schedule as soon as I get it. We are required to raise at least $500 as a team for the cause; all of which will go directly to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Each player has a set goal they should meet for donations, so please spread the word and lend a hand.

Thanks again to all of our parents and fans for supporting Herriman Softball!

St. George Update

The Lady Mustangs came out of the weekend 3-2...not too bad for our first showing. We started the weekend a bit rough with a loss to Westlake, but once we settled down there was no stopping us. Overall, I was so proud of the way this team came together and never let down. Every person played a part in our success over the weekend. I am amazed at the progress we have made so far and can't wait to see how much more we have in us. Awesome job ladies!

Weekend Standouts:

Elexis Shaw - How about leading off our first game of the season with a triple?! Or what about the leadoff homerun the next day?! Not to mention the diving play in the outfield...WOW! Great job Lex!

Cearra Clawson - All I can say is "Don't hit the ball to our third baseman unless you want to be out!" This girl was an animal on defense this weekend. Great job C!

Riley Cox - Started out the weekend as a true Freshman on the mound, but by Saturday night she looked like a Senior. We asked a lot of Riley this weekend and she battled through every situation she was in; never hanging her head when things didn't go her way. Riley was the star of the show on Saturday night; helping us get the win by holding Pine View to only 2 runs.

Thanks to all of our fans who came down to support the team! I hope to see you all at the field this week for our 2 home games.

Tuesday, March 15th vs. Hunter (3:30 pm)
Wednesday, March 16th vs. Granger (3:30 pm)

Game Cancelled...again!

Our game at Alta has been cancelled for today (3/9). We will try to re-schedule for a time later in the season.

The next item on our list is St. George! Hopefully the weather down south will allow us to play some ball games.

First game...re-scheduled...

Unfortunately, mother nature was not on our side this week. Our game for tomorrow (3/8) has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, April 13th at Murray High School. Hopefully the weather will clear up and we will be able to play this Wednesday (3/9) at Alta High School.

First Game!

Hi Mustang Fans...

Just wanted to give you an update on how the team is coming along -

We set our team last Tuesday night and chose 20 awesome girls to be a part of the softball program (roster will be posted soon). We were excited to practice as a team and to begin working on things that would challenge us and help us win ball games.

On Saturday we had our first annual cardinal-white scrimmage. I saw some great things from both teams, but also saw a lot of room for improvement. The white team dominated this year, but the cardinal team fought hard all the way through.

After the scrimmage we had a parent BBQ where we had some great food and some AMAZING desserts! Thanks to all the parents and families who attended and pitched in. I think I was able to make it around to most of you to say hi, but if not, I hope to meet you in the near future.

We have one more day of practice until we hop on the bus for an away game at Murray. Details of our first game our below. We hope to see all of our fans out there supporting us. GO MUSTANGS!

FIRST GAME:
Tuesday, March 8th @ Murray (*See field address below)
Varsity - 3:30pm
J.V. - After varsity is done
***Murray's home field is at Riverview Jr. High (751 Tripp Lane (5755 S.))
